La Curiosa’s 3/4 size sardines are a sweet spot between the tiny sardinillas and full-sized sardines — beautifully proportioned, tender and elegant.
Packed in quality olive oil, these are clean, supple and gently briny with a lovely silky finish. The slightly smaller size means the flesh is fine-textured and delicate, making them incredibly versatile.
Serving suggestion:
Serve simply with good bread, salted butter and a squeeze of lemon — or go classic Spanish style with roasted capsicum and shaved onion. They’re also brilliant flaked over warm boiled potatoes with parsley and olive oil.
Wine match:
Albariño is the natural partner. An Australian Fiano also works a treat.
